USS Nitro AE-23 ship plans

We are offering a three sheet set of Nitro ship plans for sale to interested former crew members. These edited plans were part of a larger selection given to the USS Nitro Association by the NAVSEA, Philadelphia, PA during our visit in June 1999 for a wreath laying ceremony at the former Philadelphia Naval Shipyard (now NISMF, Philadelphia). The unclassified BUSHIPS plans are dated 1959 with modifications made by Pearl Harbor Shipyard in 1960, Boston Naval Shipyard in 1961, INDMAN 3 in 1964 and Maryland Shipbuilding and Drydock Co in 1967. The plans are complete up to and including the addition of the helicopter platform and FAST equipment installation.

Sheet #1 has two views. View #1 is an Outboard (starboard) profile of the Nitro with notes pointing out most of the topside work areas. View #2 is an Inboard (starboard) profile showing labeled compartments, holds and workstations from the keel up to the 04 level of the superstructure.
Sheet #2 has four views: (all views are of below deck spaces) View #1 is of all compartments on the 2nd. Deck from bow to fantail. View #2 is of all compartments on the 1st Platform from bow to fantail. View #3 is of all compartments on the 2nd Platform from bow to fantail. View #4 is of all compartments of the Hold from bow to fantail.
Sheet #3 has four views: (all views are of the main deck and spaces above) View #1 is of the 03 & 04 level compartments of the superstructure. View #2 is of the 02 level compartments of the superstructure, control and upper winch plate areas of the kingpost islands and the gun director's platform and 3" 50s. View #3 is of the 01 level compartments of the superstructure, control and lower winch plate areas of the kingpost islands, gun platform areas and helicopter platform. View #4 is of the Main Deck compartments of the superstructure, refueling and rearming stations, munition hatches and other main deck work areas.
(Detailed View) Large Ship's Plans		This view is typical of the detail in the ship's plan we are offering. Some compartment usage may have been changed prior to and after major conversion/overhaul in 1967. One of the most notable changes (not shown on these plans, last revision date 1967) occurred during the 1990's when some quarters were converted for usage by female crew members.

Two sizes of the plans are available for purchase:

Small Set is priced at $35.00 (S/H included)
The smaller set (16" x 20" sheets) is suitable for framing.
The print on the smaller set is small but readable with good eyesight or glasses.
The plans, placed in a frame, would make a great memento of the ship.

Large Set is priced at $45.00 (S/H is included)
The larger set (32" x 48") is somewhat unwieldy but loads of fun hauling out for discussions and ideal for showing your friends where you worked, ate and slept.
